How to set up a Whiskey Advent Calendar
Step 1: find 24 friends who are willing to spend between $75 and $200 to join you on this adventure.
Step 2: get 25 bottles of whiskey, bourbon, and/or scotch (it's more fun when you have a diverse mix). Each bottle (750ml aka fifth) has 25.36oz in it. That means you can split each bottle into 25, one ounce samples...if you're careful not to spill.
Step 3: Create a secret list (like this) and give each bottle a number.
Step 4: Buy at least 625 1oz bottles (like this); label 25 sets of bottles 1 through 25; fill each bottle with 1oz of whiskey from the corresponding bottle on your list from step 3.
Step 5: Get rid of all the empty bottles, hide the list, and try to forget which bottle corresponds with which number.
Step 6: Give each of your 24 friends a set of bottles labeled 1-25 before December 1st.
Step 7: Drink each bottle on the corresponding day of December starting on December 1st and ending on Christmas day! Make sure to write down your tasting notes and give each bottle a score!

Step 8: Host a bottle share party where your 24 friends can bring one of their favorite bottles to share. Reveal the identity of each bottle and find out which bottles were the blind favorites!
Bonus points: In 2022 Cole did an epic job of putting together a google group so everyone could compare tasting notes along the way and a google forms to collect everyone's blind scores of the bottle. I really loved comparing notes and seeing how the ratings shook out. In subsequent years Cole even created a website where everyone could share their scores and notes. The possibilities for this are endless, especially when you have a good group!
